So...
I've been spending waaay too much time playing Travian & reading. Yes, I'm a Twilight fan. *sigh* I picked up the first book out of morbid curiosity, but ended up liking it, so now I have the whole series. And yes, they did screw up the movie.
I'm getting caught up on reading other people's blogs, so I keep getting sidetracked from writing this little post. And Crumpet keeps getting in my face with the purring & trying to steal chenille sticks...

Quotable Movie Meme
Here's the deal
Look up 15 of your favorite movies on IMDB.
Take a quote from each and post them for your readership to properly identify.
As your movie-savvy readers correctly identify the quotes’ cinematic origins in the comments, strike out the quotes and name the commenter who answered correctly.
If the commenter also identifies the name of the speaker (the character or the actor), he or she gets bonus points in the form of a link to his or her site.
1.
2. "Oh, it's nobody's fault but my own! I was looking up... it was the nearest thing to heaven! You were there..."
3.
4. "It is a great nuisance. I can't find anyone else to talk to. I'm so full of interesting information, I feel like the latest edition of something or other. Well, after some consideration... so much to do, there's only one thing to be done. There comes a time in every son's life when he must, indeed, follow his father's advice: I shall go to bed at once."
5.
6.

9.
10. "Dear Diary, Today I tried not to think about Mr. Knightly. I tried not to think about him when I discussed the menu with Cook... I tried not to think about him in the garden where I thrice plucked the petals off a daisy to ascertain his feelings for Harriet. I don't think we should keep daisies in the garden, they really are a drab little flower."
11. "I will simply deny you the crown and live... forever!"

15. "So... Here's to the men who did what was considered wrong, in order to do what they knew was right..."

Happenings...
(I had a boatload of stuff to blog when I was thinking about it earlier, but now it's all slipped my mind. Hmph!)
Let's see, we had two clients from work - ages 14 & 15, steal the cottage car & take a little jaunt to Emporia, about 70 miles away. They were caught there & are being charged with felonies for car theft, obstruction of justice & eluding an officer. In a beat-up Neon, no less. Needless to say, they'll not be back, for a while at least.
Dad went in to get some bumps taken off his head. The lab called back to report that the bumps were cancerous, so he's got to go back in & have the doc dig a little deeper where they were. He, his dad & one brother have all had skin cancer spots removed & Grandpa died of prostate cancer, so he probably shouldn't let this go too long.
I've had a knot under my right shoulder blade for last month. I started taking the pain med that I've been prescribed several times before but ended up having a bad reaction - dizziness, shortness of breath, shaking, headaches, etc. & almost passed out in the doctor's office. Quite lovely. So now I get to go through withdrawal since it turns out the med (Ultram or Tramadal) is addicting. Even more lovely. But it keeps getting better, even the knot since she upped the Naproxen (Aleve) to 3 times a day & the muscle relaxer to twice a day.
I have a new game of obsess over - The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Absolutely love it! I played it at my cousin Jay's & then ordered a copy for myself. Once it came I found out that it wouldn't run on either computer, so I ordered memory, a DVD drive & video card from Newegg.com. I should be able to get everything finished up when the video card gets here tomorrow.
I also turned 29 last month. It's turning into a slippery slide to 30.
One more thing - I mentioned in a post a while back that Peanut & Belle are pregnant. Well, Kat is now due around October. Three new babies next summer & fall. :-)

New House...
The entryway, view from the front door - the floors are laminate. The piano is now against the wall on the lower right side. The two bedrooms are off to the right side, the living is to the left, the kitchen is down the hallway around the corner & the bathroom is at 12 o'clock.
The kitchen - the fridge is a commercial one! The island with the stove is topped by black marble. The flooring is linoleum.
The kitchen from another angle. The built-in BBQ grill is original & the stone is all the backside of the fireplace in the living room. There is a circle all the way around the fireplace that gets used as a racetrack when Bobo & Little Man are here. Boo also walks it, making sure all is as it should be in her house.
The dining room, from by the fireplace in the living room. We have Heritage Lace curtains up on the window now & a curio cabinet in the corner. We are loving the laminate flooring, especially when the kids are here - no more peeling gooey food out of the carpet after meals.We're still in the process of moving, but we've had the whole family out several times. Dad bought a go-cart "for the grandkids" (yeah, right, whatever you say...) & it has gotten lots of use. I got to go to East Lake yesterday evening with Flanders, Ramone, Jer & Jay to play with Jay's new jetski. That was so. much. fun! Jay managed to throw Ramone off once when practicing tight doughnuts at top speed. Ramone & Jer both tried (a bit) to toss me off, but I managed to stay on, thanks to years of horseback riding. Jer & I didn't get to stay completely dry though, as we flipped it over whilst trying to load it onto the trailer. Always glad to give the guys a reason to laugh...

Useless Fluff
| You Are Mud Pie |
You're the perfect combo of flavor and depth Those who like you give into their impulses |
Mmmm... chocolate...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
| You Are a Chocolate Cake |
Fun, comforting, and friendly. You are a true classic, and while you're not super cutting edge, you're high quality. People love your company - and have even been known to get addicted to you. |
Mmmm... chocolate...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
| You Are Smores |
Unusual and unconventional, you make your strange ways work for you. You've got personality - no one's denying that! |
Mmmm... chocolate...
I think I'm noticing a wee bit of a trend here...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
| You Will Not Be a Cool Parent |
And that's pretty okay. While your kids may not think of you as a friend, they will respect you. You know that kids need discipline and structure, and you're not afraid to give it to them. Just be careful that your strictness doesn't lead to rebellion. It's good to have standards and rules, but you don't need to have an iron fist when enforcing them. |
Kids - the reason closets, duct tape & straight jackets were invented...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
| You Should Own a Husky |
Athletic, free-spirited, and perfect for cuddling |
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
| The Keys to Your Heart |
You are attracted to those who are unbridled, untrammeled, and free. In love, you feel the most alive when things are straight-forward, and you're told that you're loved. You'd like to your lover to think you are optimistic and happy. You would be forced to break up with someone who was ruthless, cold-blooded, and sarcastic. Your ideal relationship is open. Both of you can talk about everything... no secrets. Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment. You think of marriage something you've always wanted... though you haven't really thought about it. In this moment, you think of love as commitment. Love only works when both people are totally devoted. |
Whoa...
I guess I forgot to mention that Mom & Dad bought a new house. It's 10 acres (I think), west of town with - get this - a firing range!!! Waa-hoo! *happy dance* LH is probably going to be doing some of his concealed-carry classes out there.
The family reunion has been cancelled. The Wyoming portion of the family wasn't going to be able to make it & Mom, Dad & I are moving during that week, so it just wasn't going to work. And I emailed the lady in charge of the church's women's retreat & explained my schedule, so I'm off that commitee. Mom is still on it though, so I'll end up helping anyway. :-)
Poor Dead Language
Your Score: Older Futhark
You scored
Language of the Norse, Older Futhark! Thirty symbols, all told. And no hardier, more warrior-like tongue has ever graced the longships of the Viki or left the Celts and Saxons in such quivering fear. There's only one drawback, that being you died 800 years ago.
| Link: The Which Ancient Language Are You Test written by imipak on OkCupid Free Online Dating, home of the The Dating Persona Test |
Viking longships - reminded me of when I taught the story of Jonah to Mom's kindergarten class several weeks ago. The boys in the class turned the boats on their colouring sheets into Viking ships, complete with oars, shields & the dragons on the front. One was on fire & the helmeted captain had fallen overboard, along with the rest of the crew.
Spirited Personality?
Congratulations on being 400% smart! Actually, on my test, everyone is. The above score breaks down what kind of thinking you most enjoy doing. A score above 100% means you use that kind of thinking more than average, and a score below 100% means you use it less. It says nothing about how good you are at any one, just how interested you are in each, relatively. A substantial difference in scores between two people means, conclusively, that they are different kinds of thinkers.
Matching Summary: Each of us has different tastes. Still, I offer the following advice, which I think is obvious:
- Don't date someone if your interpersonal percentages differ by more than 80%.
- Don't be friends with someone if your verbal percentages differ by more than 100%.
- Don't have sex with someone if their math percentage is over 200%.
THE "LALOLKFATYK" MEME (Learn A Lot Of Little Known Facts About Those You Know)
When you get done reading about my quirks, answer the questions yourself and either post them on your blog or in the comments below. If you answer the meme on your blog let me know so I can sneak a peek.Here goes more useless fluff...
WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?
First name - no. Middle name - the same as The Mothership's first.
WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?
All out cried - can't remember. Tearing up crying - last week at work when I had a serious conversation with a girl who had come back from being on the run.
Dum-De-Dum-Dum
| You Are A Romantic Realist |
You tend to be grounded when it comes to romance. Sure, you can fall hard... but only for someone you've gotten to know. And once you're in love, you can be a total romantic goofball... But you'd never admit it to your friends! |
| What Your Face Says |
At first glance, people see you as warm and well-balanced. Overall, your true self is moody and dynamic. With friends, you seem thoughtful and interested in ideas. In love, you seem like a huge flirt. In stressful situations, you seem selfish and moody. |
Ooops
The dog is back home after being neutered. So far, he's not run off, but I feel bad for the poor guy. Anyway, hopefully now he'll quit moving the cistern lid that he's chained to. He's moved it a good 8 inches. It's solid concrete, mind you. Nutcase. I would have to get a freakishly strong dog.
Went up yonder to the farm with Bobo. We were there about an hour before hopping in Belle's van to head to Kansas City to visit Flanders, who started a new job with the railroad there. Bobo wore his Superman cape the whole day and he & Little Man had fun at the park we visited.
By the way, I don't think I've posted a picture of Sugar Plum yet.... well, here she is.
Take a look at those cheeks! And she is so happy & fun, especially when the little tongue is sticking out.
Well, now that I've said hey (Hey!), I think I'll head back to my hibernation...
If You Don't Like The Weather...
At least, that's what we do here in Kansas. It's been so nice that I've had my windows open for the last week. The other day it was around 80, and now today... snow.
Sheesh. Craziness.
