Performing Monkey Numero Uno

I now have my first ever performing monkey. (Confused? Read the little blurb under my profile pic at the top... Got it? Good.) There is a sad little man (?) who apparently feels he needs to display his lack of intelligence & good manners, and on my little corner of the intertubes, no less. Therefore, I have turned comment moderation on to keep him from dragging my comment sections into the sewer system with him. I apologize for any inconvenience to my friends & readers.

Note to my widdle monkey - feel free to leave all the nasty little bits of poo you wish, just know that they will be rejected. And if you think to offend me, think again. I work with teenagers. Teenagers with behavioural problems. I've heard it all, so you don't bother me. Now, if you don't mind -well, actually whether you do or not - I'm off to more important things than you, like picking lint from between my toes. Ta.

Oh yes, I'd like to request a trapeze act next, please.

And to my brothers & Dad - I know you will want to give this little booger a piece of your minds, but anything exceedingly inflammatory will also be rejected. I love you too. :)

Oops...

I've been a bad blogger this summer - no posts for what - 2 months? If you're one of the approximately 2.6 people that read this site on a regular basis, I sincerely apologise. My excuses are as follows:

~ Carter Grant was born in July, as was Julia Jane. Yay - more hobbitses for me to spoil!
~ I joined the Long Hair Community (LHC) & am figuring out how to properly care for my hair so I can grow it out.
~ I finished building my gaming computer, with some help from the awesome tech guys at CG Computer Solutions here in town. Oblivion is now so freaking beautiful, I can hardly believe it!
~ And last but not least, lotsa time-wastage on FaceBook (Scramble is quite addicting).

More on all of those topics to come. But for now, it's back to work for me... ( <--- y'all didn't just see that)

Makeover Time!

The little bloggy page has had a bit of a makeover. I wanted to go back to the 3-column layout so the sidebars wouldn't be so stinkin' long. Anyway, hope y'all like it & if there are any problems, please drop me a comment & let me know. It's doing fine here in Firefox, but I dunno about IE.

What happened to my posts! Everything since the middle of February has disappeared!

Whew! They're back. I can breathe again.

Spambots = Evil

I logged into my gmail account & saw that I had comments.

Comments! And there was much rejoicing - Yay!

Then I saw that they were all from Evil Spambots - Grrr.

And there was much plotting of how to bring about the long & painful demise of said Evil Spambots and their owners/creators.

So this means that I will be moderating all comments, so they won't be popping up immediately. I'm sorry but me no likey Evil Spambots.

New Profile Pic

I've always wanted a kind of signature pic for this here little corner of the blogosphere. Finally realized I have this one. It's part of a larger photo a friend & I had done at State Fair one year. Thought it was appropriate - a Victoriany LadyGunn with a gun.

Milestones

On Saturday, I had two, count 'em two, milestones.

My little car crossed the 100,000 mile mark and my Sitemeter crossed the 2,000th visitor mark.

I'm guessing that #2,000 was Tommy from Striving for Average, judging by the referring URL & ISP...

I was sitting here, telling Bridget how cool it is when I get blogrolled by or an email from somebody I read. She says "You're popular in the blog world! You can even have a date to the blog prom!"

I think that's a great idea, although the logistics might be a little tricky...
