Since the State Fair last year, I've been wearing one of those magnetic anklets that is supposed to be a cure-all. People would occasionally ask me if it worked so a couple weeks ago I decided to test it. Left it off for several days & I ended up in enough pain that I had difficulty walking & standing straight. Guess it does work after all. Wacky...

Playing Hooky

I stayed home from church today since the Lyrica is really laying on the side effects, namely dizziness, and it probably wouldn't look good for me to be wandering around the church looking like I'm drunk as a skunk. The poor kids in Children's Church & Sunday School... "Why did Miss Marla just fall into the wall?"

Speaking of church, our congregation has grown enough in the past couple of years since we finished the new addition that we are outgrowing our building. In August, we'll be going to three services instead of the two that we have now, and doing two Sunday School hours instead of one. Sunday School will be done during the second & third services, which means we'll have the kiddos for an hour & fifteen minutes instead of the forty-five minutes that we have them for now.

And speaking of Sunday School... Mom, Dad & I teach one of the Kindergarten classes - we're the Kindergarten Kittens. Last week Mom taught the story of Zacchaeus (Luke 19:1-10) and was very clear about the plan of salvation. Mom went over the Wordless Book with them and at the end of the lesson prayed a prayer of salvation. She asked them to come see her at the end of the class time if they prayed that prayer with her for the first time and meant what they said. When she asked them to talk to her later, four little ones came up. She talked with each of them to make sure they understood and apparently they did. We got an email from the parents of one little boy who for sure got it.

That, my friends... is awesome.

My fibromylagia has been rearing it's ugly head lately. I missed Tuesday, worked only two hours on Wednesday & didn't go in today. Probably won't go in tomorrow either. I did start today on that new med that has been advertised for FMS, Lyrica, so we'll see how it works out. The main side effects are supposed to be nausea & dizziness. I am kinda dizzy-ish, not terribly bad, but I have a humdinger of a headache.

Okay, enough of the whine-fest, on to more important things - kiddos!

My cousins from Wyoming, Anna & Abbie, visited the clan in NE Kansas last weekend, so we popped up for a quick visit. As you can see, the kids were swarming like 'skeeters on a summers day. Seven boys and one little girl. For now...
Ahh, hobbit-powered tractors... The boyos had lots of races, mainly pushing each other on this tractor or with Tonka trucks. There was some major testosterone spillage that day.
Yup, that's my niece... *grin*
The Preggo Ladies - Shelly (who is expecting a boy in July), Peanut (who is expecting a girl, Julia Jane, in August) and Katrina (who is expecting a girl, Kinsey Kay, in October). So Clara will eventually have reinforcements against all those boys.

(This one is titled 'Ack! I forgot to give it a title!')

I have a confession to make - I splurged & got an iPod. A shiny silver 80GB iPod Classic, to be precise. I have all 3 seasons of Bones, in addition to Firefly & lotsa lotsa music. Since all the cool kids are doing it, guess I'll post whatever pops up on shuffle...

1. He - Jars of Clay
2. The Point of No Return - The Phantom of the Opera soundtrack
3. Creepin' In - Norah Jones with Dolly Parton
4. Holy, Holy, Holy - Steven Curtis Chapman, from the Amazing Grace soundtrack
5. The Dark of the Matinee - Franz Ferdinand
6. Fever - Peggy Lee
7. Life After Death and Taxes - Relient K

And this is how I choose to live
As if I'm jumping off a cliff
Knowing that you'll save me [2x]
And after all the stupid things I did
There's nothing left there to forgive
'Cause you already forgave me
Yeah you already forgave me

Just keep driving
Leave this deceit miles behind me
So far back I'd have to wrap my mind in
Just remind me
I can't try this to pick myself up
And then move on
Think about the life I'll have
When this fragile one is gone.

Never forget
There's life after death and taxes
Forgiveness comes
And all of the rest
Is what passes away
Death and decay can't touch us now

8. Guitars, Cadillacs - Dwight Yoakum
9. Love Song for a Saviour - Jars of Clay
10. Layla - Eric Clapton

Hope y'all have a lovely rest of the week.
