She's Ba-ack...

Finally - the return of the Psycho Sydney!
Chillin' on the couch with Snowball.
Bo-ring... Snowball isn't much of a conversationalist.
Peanut's bebe kitties - all four are girls & already spoken for. (There was a moth on the door.)

Success!

Ah-Ha! I am victorious over the Intertubes at last! (This time, anyway...)

I finally managed to get the wireless 'net to work at the local coffee shop, so I can upload pictures off of Vickie, my little laptop. So y'all get to look at some of my pictures from the visit to Flanders & Belle's...

Flanders playing with my bow as Bobo looks on. You can see another arrow down at the bottom of the pic - Little Man & Bobo liked to use the arrows as swords.
Belle with a sick little Sugar Plum, also the donor of the virus that I just had. :)
The pink blur is from the first version of the camera. I had to delete over half the pictures I took due to the pink bleeding in the middle. Took it back, got a new one & it's all better now.
Had some lovely views of distant rain on the trip home.
And some lovely sun streamers as well.

~~~~~
The church had it's 20th anniversary party on Sunday & I took the bow. I ended up with a small gaggle of kids who all wanted a shot at it. They all had a blast. The tiniest one was 2/3rds the size of the bow, so it sat on the ground as I helped her pull it back a few inches to shoot at the target that was all of 3 feet away. Unfortunately, there wasn't anyone available to take pictures. :(
Funny Chillens
We have a new client. She's a tiny little bit of a thing. The other day, another staff had the following conversation with her...
Staff: So, where are you from?
Girl: (very perky) Haiti!
S: Oh. ... How old are you?
G: (again, very perky) Nine!
S: Why are you here?
G: (still perky) 'Cause I'm homicidal!
S: Oh. ... Oh! Really?
G: Yeah, I threaten to kill people!
S: Ooo-kay...
Looks like we'll be having some fun soon. Heh.
LALOLKFATYK!
I was (kinda-sorta) hit by Leslie, who knows I'd jump on the bandwagon anyway, so here's the newest gig in Bloggy-Town:
THE "LALOLKFATYK" MEME (Learn A Lot Of Little Known Facts About Those You Know)
When you get done reading about my quirks, answer the questions yourself and either post them on your blog or in the comments below. If you answer the meme on your blog let me know so I can sneak a peek.
Here goes more useless fluff...
WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?
First name - no. Middle name - the same as The Mothership's first.
WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?
All out cried - can't remember. Tearing up crying - last week at work when I had a serious conversation with a girl who had come back from being on the run.
DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING?
Sometimes. It's an odd mix of cursive & printing, and although it's started to look more like Mom's, it's also getting sloppier as I scribble milieus at work.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCH MEAT?
Honey or mesquite turkey.
DO YOU HAVE KIDS?
Do the cat & dog count? Other than that, I'm just an old-maid Auntie.
IF YOU WERE ANOTHER PERSON, WOULD YOU BE FRIENDS WITH YOU?
Yeah, I like odd people.
DO YOU USE SARCASM A LOT?
Sarcasm!?! Me?!? Never! Umm... I mean, yes.
DO YOU STILL HAVE YOUR TONSILS?
They're done gone - had them out when I was 12-ish. It was the only time I've stayed in a hospital as a patient.
WOULD YOU BUNGEE JUMP?
Oh, yes please. I'd be scared to death, but I'd still love to try it.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CEREAL?
Honey Bunches of Oats (like Leslie), Cinnamon Toast Crunch & Cap'n Crunch - I refuse to grow up!
DO YOU UNTIE YOUR SHOES WHEN YOU TAKE THEM OFF?
If they're tie-able, yes. I usually don't bother tie-able shoes, though. Give me high heels that'll slip off easily.
DO YOU THINK YOU ARE STRONG?
Only compared to some. (Thank you, Princess Buttercup)
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ICE CREAM?
Some Dark Chocolate Mousse-y-ish stuff at Baskin Robbins. Rummy likes it too - he cleaned up the rest last time I had some.
WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE?
Sense of humor & attitude.
RED OR PINK?
Gimme red, baby.
WHAT IS THE LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOURSELF?
My fat - I'm well-insulated - and my health problems - they've completely changed the direction of my life, although I suppose it's been for the best. I wouldn't have the friends I have now & probably wouldn't even know what blogging was. :)
WHO DO YOU MISS THE MOST?
My grandparents & (not to take the g'parents lightly, but) my horses.
WHAT COLOR PANTS AND SHOES ARE YOU WEARING?
Dark denim jeans & low black slip-on heels that I got on sale.
WHAT WAS THE LAST THING YOU ATE?
A biscuit & gravy with nice thick bacon at Charlie's with Nic while we salivated over jewelry.
WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW?
The faint A/C here in the church worship center, at the tech booth. I don't have the know-how to run the sound system for music. :(
IF YOU WHERE A CRAYON, WHAT COLOR WOULD YOU BE?
Could I be one that changes colors with my mood? I'm fickle.
Coffee. Chocolate. Fresh cut grass. Rain. Babies - clean, unstinkified babies. Alfalfa. Leather, horses & sawdust. Givenchy Organza Indecence. Cherries & strawberries.
WHO WAS THE LAST PERSON YOU TALKED TO ON THE PHONE?
The Mothership. And wonderful daughter that I am, I can't remember a thing we talked about! (Hey! I'm tired!)
Drag-racing & any horse sports, preferably in person. I am going to Nascar at Kansas Speedway sometime in September - my uncle bought season tickets for the family to share.
HAIR COLOR[S]?
Brown, with blonde-ish streaks & some reddish highlights, au naturale. I used to color it red, but got tired of the fried look.
Indecisive. All the paperwork says blue, but they can't decide if they're that or grey or green-ish.
Nope, but I need to get glasses again.
FAVORITE FOOD?
Hearing that the little hobbits are coming to visit or getting bloggy comments. Mmmm... comments... *drool*
Knives & Jewelry...
...What more can a girl ask for?
So, I'm having this jewelry party tonight. While I'm there, I'll be wearing a pretty little spoon-handle ring, a bracelet with teacup charms & a sparkly necklace. Ooh, can't forget the earrings. In my pocket, I will have my little Leatherman. And in & on my pretty, sparkly purse, will (as always) be this & these.
Heh. I can just feel the lecture coming my way from The Mothership...
Ick, Part Deux
Well, I finally got sick. It started with a virus, diagnosed when I went to the doc on Friday & mutated into bronchitis by the time I went back on Monday. I had to go see Doc Liz again on Wednesday to get drops for the ear infection that started up & the gunky eye-boogers I've been getting as well. (Doesn't 'eye-boogers' just have a lovely ring to it...)
Tonight is my first night back at work, so we'll see how I do with half a voice. I have to be better though, because I'm having a Premier Jewelry party Friday night & I refuse to reschedule it unless I'm on my deathbed. The doc said I'm not contagious any longer, just a little hoarse. Although I'd much rather have a little horse. (Sorry, I know that was bad)
I still have to get another Z-pack after this one's used up & I have lots of leftover cough syrup with codeine. (Yippee!) Anyway, it's all back to normal, or at least as normal as I can get.
Ick...
I think I'm getting sick. It would have to start up two days before my weekend.
I have plenty of PTO time saved up - 140 hours vacation plus 240 hours of long-term sick leave that I can use if I'm out sick longer than 5 days, but I think I need a break from work (hence the not wanting to be sick on my weekend). A coworker told me yesterday to just call in if I don't feel like working for a day or two, but I can't do that. That would mean that someone else would have to do overtime to cover my shift, with practically no notice & it wouldn't be fair to them. Plenty of other people do it, but we're short-staffed enough without a perfectly healthy (until now) person taking off for no good reason.
My throat & glands are sore, I have a headache, I'm dizzy & am having difficulty focusing. I know I need to eat but nothing really sounds good or worth the effort. I've not been sleeping well lately & the pain has been kinda bad, so I think the fibromyaliga is acting up too.
I have some cute stories & pictures from the little hobbits, but I'm feeling really fuzzy & keep leaving out words that are sorta vital to the sentence (& the ones that get in are often misspelled), so I'll go away for now.
Hope y'all have a lovely weekend.
Stuff
I'm up at the farm right now with Flanders, Belle & their passel o' hobbits.
Rumsfeld accompanied me on this trip, once I retrieved him from his last little jaunt into the depths of our neighborhood, that is. I didn't realize until we were clear up here that he'd broken his harness (this was #4) & I had no way to keep him from running off. Dad was here & we managed to bolt (yes, you read that right - bolt) his harness together enough to use it, but the next morning he was off & loose again. Put him back on & he slipped out yet again. Gah! So, I've not bothered with the harness the last day & a half & he's been fine. His gypsy blood must be taking a break. He just wanders the farm, carries his stuffed quail around & takes long naps in the shade. The little boys are loving him. The little girl doesn't much care either way.
I got to play a bit on the 4-wheeler - very fun, and we messed around with my new toy some yesterday. Lost an arrow out in the windbreak (durn camo) but maybe Viking Dad can bring his metal detector up the next time he comes & look for it.
The Mothership is taking care of Jay's hobbits - Beetlebomb, Elf & Lil'Un, since school is out. Last week I would go over after I got off work & take my laptop. The kids are having a ball playing The Sims 2. They each have their own house, people & pets. The girls named their cats after each other, so it's kinda funny to hear "Lil'Un, you're going to use the litter box!" Lil'Un goes "Hey!".
I'm heading home later this afternoon & then it's back to work tonight at midnight.
Haaaaa-lellujah!
My schedule has changed! I now work Tuesday thru Saturday, which means I have my Sundays back. I can now have a, uh... what's that word again... let me think... oh yeah, a life!
Woo-Hoo!
Peanut has passed her state boards!
From Mom's email:
Family and Friends,
Thank you so, so much for praying for Peanut on her big test day lastTuesday. We just found out this afternoon that she passed. The relief has been exhilarating and such a blessing for Peanut (not to mention a couple of others of us!). The test (computer) stopped after 75 questions which meant that she either passed with flying colors or failed miserably. The wait was not fun for her, but I just couldn’t think that with her grades and hundreds of hours of studying, she wouldn’t have done fine.
We are thankful to the Lord for all the times He gave her the strength to press on. It’s been quite an experience and her tenacity has paid off.
Peanut starts in the labor and delivery unit at (the local hospital) this coming Monday. She will train during first shift and when her training is complete, she will work third shift.
Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers. You all have meant so much to our family these last 3 years.
Blessings To Each Of You,
The Mothership
